I got it probably 15 or more years ago. And for a long time, the cards were forgotten inside “that box”… you know the one - too good to throw out, maybe I’ll need it one day, a bit of sentiment box…

Then last year all of the sudden I remembered my cards (and it had been few years) I found them again and reconnected with my deck. Now, a few times a week, first thing in the morning I draw a few cards to see what they have to say about the daily Qi.

One card from a few days ago stayed in my mind until now.

Comparison.

You see a strong tree… and bamboo. Both different. Both strong in their own way.

But you can’t really compare them.

The message is clear: not everything is meant to move the same way… or at the same time.

I think it’s a good reminder.

We tend to become impatient with timing. But not every season is active. Some are quiet - so you can sit with yourself… reflect, reset and pivot if needed.

We’re all moving through different cycles… and as the energy shifts, things change. Heaven sets the timing, Earth holds the form. What you do between them - is up to you.

But don’t measure your timing against something that was never meant to move like you.

it’s week 5 of staying consistent.

Up until now, everything has flowed. But this week… I can feel a bit of resistance. Not that motivation is gone, the feeling of “I must post on a certain day” starts to feel heavy. It’s Thursday evening, and I have nothing prepared for this Sunday.

No draft, no ideas.

And yet… I’m not worried.

Last week felt different to me.

I went back to work, and if I’m honest, it’s not something I enjoy these days. I’ve been there for over a decade now, so I suppose some kind of change was always going to come eventually. At a certain point, something begins to loosen, and what once felt normal no longer fits in quite the same way.

Then yesterday, I felt a sudden burst of energy. That unmistakable feeling that the season had shifted, not only outside, but somewhere within.

The Equinox has just passed, and where I live, Spring has officially started. I can feel that change in a very real way.

In the language of the Five Elements, this is the season of Spring Wood.

Wood is the energy of new growth, movement returning, life rising upward again after being held back through Winter. The ground begins to soften, roots begin to wake, and what was quiet starts pressing gently towards expression.

This is also the shift from stronger Yin toward rising Yang.

Winter holds more Yin energy - inward, hidden, still, conserving. Spring begins to turn that inward stillness outward. Yang starts rising again, and movement returns.

In the Southern Hemisphere, the opposite is happening.

There, Autumn is beginning, and the seasonal energy moves into Metal. If Spring Wood opens and expands - Autumn Metal refines, reduces, and clears what is unnecessary, beginning the process of returning inward.

Both are part of the same cycle, just seen from opposite sides.

One side begins to grow outward.

The other begins to gather inward.

And with that in mind, the movement of this week starts to make more sense. The days ahead reflect that same seasonal change - some push forward, some slow down, and some clear what is no longer needed so new movement has space to begin.

Each colour shows what kind of day it is:

• 🟢 Easy flow days (Receive, Balance, Remove) Good for going with things, adjusting, and clearing what is no longer needed.

Over the past weeks I have been gradually adjusting the way I read and present the daily Qi. As I continue practising, I find myself layering different systems together. This week I have worked with the 12 Day Officers, the 60 Jia Zi cycle, Na Yin images, and the lunar constellations.

When I started this series it was also a small experiment for myself. I have admitted before that consistency is not always my strongest quality, so this was a way to test whether I could show up regularly. So far I have managed to keep it going, and I am beginning to appreciate the feeling of structure it brings.

Outside of writing these posts, my time is shared between studying Chinese metaphysics, balancing work and family life + allowing space for my own creative and spiritual exploration.

The deeper I go into these studies, the more I notice how different systems begin to connect with each other.

I have also been a little quieter on other platforms. The fast pace of constant posting eventually left me feeling slightly burned out.
